so i’ve been rather busy with life in general but i figured it was time to check in on my blog so poor jess doesn’t think i’ve abandoned it lol.

working at XM Radio is… interesting. i’m the person you call when you need to complain about stuff pretty much. ok i do other things too, like activate people’s radio subscriptions and clear up billing issues, but mostly it seems like i’m just the person to shout at when something goes wrong with an account. bleh. it’s not something i want to do for the rest of my life that’s for sure. but it pays the non-existant bills.

i bought a laptop last friday, it is sexay. got it at walmart so it’s not amazing but it’s awesome and i’ve never had a laptop so i’m all spoiled on laying in bed while playing SL and talking to my boyfriend. this is one of those perks i get in exchange for being yelled at by customers all day.

went to warped tour on monday, that was a fucking trip to remember by far.
trip went like this:

got to venue 2 hours in advance because we’re crazy
exit car and a hindu monk hands us hippy books about meditation… lol
walk up to gate and get bombed with a billion new bands who are standing around with ipods and headphones trying to get their name out.. which i thought was cool but after a while it was annoying..
pissed off pita volunteer.. “hi would you like to learn about pita?” “no thank you i like to eat meat 8D”
listened to asshole guy in front of us who acted like he knew every god damn thing about warped tour (which he didn’t, because he said nofx was supposed to be there and they were not…lawl)
almost had to leave because they suddenly said no backpacks but then said backpacks were allowed
made it in… gathered free shwag
wandered around merch tents while under oath played (i think it was under oath?)
signed up for a chance to win a my chemical romance guitar 8)
watched unknown band who wasn’t bad (cannot remember name though..)
pushed close to the front so bobbie could watch the band she came for (cute is what we aim for)
almost died in mosh pit during coheed and cambria set 8D
wandered around merch tents grabbing free shwag while trying to find bobbie because she left the pit before coheed came on
almost passed out, attempted to get into first aid tent, was instead given water and told to sit on the ground… IN THE SUN… how fucking lame is that.
stood in line for 30 minutes to meet bad religion, get there, give them my poster which got almost destroyed in the mosh pit, guitarist tells me it’s the most awesome thing they’ve signed all day, lead singer tells me i’m just a baby and there’s no way i’ve been listening to them for so long XD shake hands, almost pee pants… leave tent with huge ass smile plastered across my face and a very cool, almost ruined, bad religion poster.
sat for about 30 minutes on a metal bench and then decided needed to get back up and look for bobbie
found bobbie on a hill like.. a full foot and a half away from where i’d been sitting that whole time durr… we are smart 8)
laid on hill for another hour or so… missed pennywise’s show but was too god damn tired to go
bought bad religion shirt and coheed and cambria necklace
attempted to catch paramore but didn’t get to the stage in time, show starts, but we bump into my friends steven and mike so we talk to them while paramore plays and we wait for bad religion’s set
bad religion plays and i jump up and down like a crazy person XD
wander slowly over to red jump suit apparatus’ set but then decide after two songs that it’s time to go home cause they were the last band we wanted to see and we only knew one song by them.
walked ever so slowly to the car
drove for a bit, then stopped at a jack in the box, which neither of us have ever been to. we are now in love with that resturant. omg i wish they had those up here in va. (we were almost at the bottom of NC, and that’s the first time we’ve ever seen a jack in the box)
drove the rest of the way home with only a minor stop because bobbie was speeding and got a ticket :s
passed out.

photos of my shwag are in my flickr account.

so that’s about it for me, for now anyway. i’ll try to write more if i come up with anything.

  • That sounds really cool, I’m jealous.

Most of the stories I’ve heard about XM and people trying to cancel and such reminds me of AOL.

    • yes for some reason xm pays the deactivation department people to try to keep radios on at all costs, so they sometimes leave the radios running which is bad practice and i’m starting to want to call in and cuss at them when i get off work.

  • Sounds like you had a great time, except for the almost passing out part ofc.

I’m glad you got to met Bad Religion. It’s so awesome meeting bands you really love.

  • I miss you. Where the hell have you been? *muah*
