bah…
so here was the other thing that totally skipped my mind.
the second rat that we purchased was found dead yesterday in her cage. i have no idea why, she didn’t seem sick, she was the happy hyper rat that was running all over the place. very friendly, very social with us both, and then bam. dead. nancy is still alive and fine, but i have no clue what killed sid so i’m worried that nancy will end up with the same fate 
i never even got a photo of sid…

That IS strange. I hope the other rat will be just fine. Maybe Sid got sick with something in the air (virus, maybe?) or something in the food? Might be a good idea to clean the cage so Nancy could stay safe… Just a thought. I had rats before as well and I could relate in some ways.
