so i was looking around socialspark.com looking for some opportunities that fit with the halloween season and i came across a spark for Fear Asylum. from what i can see it looks like a blossoming horror movie fan community. i saw a couple of reviews and noticed they even had a forum to chat about movies, so that was pretty cool. all in all its a good start to a site, however i do notice a few minor things that irked me as a viewer.

• play on load music. this is one of my pet peeves (sorry)! while i do like the song don’t fear the reaper i really hate to have to stop it every time i return to the main page. if you insist on having music please be kind and do not make it play on page load.
• the banner while it does have cool font, seems a bit low quality. i recommend getting rid of the pumpkins.

the site is very new so i am going easy on it. it is easily navigated and it looks like it will be a pretty cool community site once it gets off the ground a bit more. i’ll be sure to check back to see what else they put up in the future

ugh october where have you gone?!?! it seems like just a day or so ago it had just started and now here it is the 17th!

mom brought a filter thing into my room to try and see if it would help my cough. it did for the first half of the day, and i was able to breath, but now its evening and i’m coughing like nothing changed. she’s going to get some other sort of mildew/mold catcher in here to see if that works better but if it doesn’t then its time for the dreaded doctor’s appointment… i haven’t been to a doctor since i got tonsilitis a long ass time ago. my mother hates them and doesn’t take me unless i’m dying.. i guess i’ll have to cough up a lung before she’ll take me this time but hopefully its just allergies and nothing serious!

in second life i’m still working my little pixel butt off and in the sims 2 i’ve made some progress with my legacy house. i still can’t seem to get interested in the sims 3, but my family there had a baby boy and he’s a toddler now there’s some pictures of my sims 3 family and of course my legacy there in the sims 2 link above.

that’s what it sounds like here in my room right now. one thing i hate about october is this nagging cough i always get as soon as it starts to cool down. its been driving me insane for years now and i wish i could get to the bottom of it. my mother just says its allergies and to deal with it.. so she won’t take me to the doctor for it. i think that i really should get it checked out, but since i don’t have the ability to drive, i have to rely on her for that… so i’m just choking my head off *sigh* it makes it really hard to focus on the work i have to do.

i think its mold in our vents… i wish i could figure out how to kill it! or at least kill this damn cough!

i love joining web directories! i used to have this blog on a ton of them but during my months of absence most of the sites i was listed on went poof. so now i’m joining all new sites and i wanted to let you guys know about this one called the listing. i just signed up for it and it looks like a great site. lots of different site categories to choose from, even an adult section! so its a good choice for any website not just blogs like mine.

another reason i love list sites like this? i find new blogs to check out! like this one called blondish.net. right now she’s showcasing some really cool tutorials for vexel art that make me want to play with photoshop… but right now i need to head to bed X_x.

all that blogging finally paid off i’m finally approved for socialspark! yes i know a lot of people are against paid blogging but lets face it.. i need money. the only downside i’m seeing right now is that i’m still not really qualified to do anything that gives me money. but hopefully if i keep at it i’ll be able to work that out.

oh yes i would also like it to be known that i am officially addicted to flashforward. lucas first told me about this show a while ago but me being a dumbass who forgets to turn on the tv sometimes, forgot to watch it when it premered. so he and i watched episode 1 and 2 on hulu and i caught the 3rd episode tonight during its encore presentation. I LOVE IT! my dad is hooked as well so we’re sitting around talking about it to each other while my mom looks at us like we’re freaks. the story of this show is just insane and every episode so far has left me going “WHAHHHHHTTTT?” when its over. i really see it being a new staple show in my life and that is rare for me. i’m very picky about tv shows.. i never really get hooked on many. i just hope abc doesn’t do something stupid like can it after the first season.

i finally know what its really like to be burnt out. yeah i know i say i am burned out on videogames but i’ve never been burnt out creatively!

in second life i have so many projects going on at once, and i seriously think i may have taken on more than i can handle. i am doing my best to get though it all but sometimes i just feel like curling up and hiding from it all. very unprofessional of me i know.. bleh.

so for all of you who don’t know about second life stuff.. in there i am a content creator and a photographer. i make screenshots look pretty and i make stuff for people to wear and use in the virtual world. currently i have 2 big commission pieces, 2 gallery submissions, and on top of that, our halloween line for the store.

one of the commissions i had to do was a big deal. lots of logo work and signage and i even had to make tshirts! i finally got that done today and hopefully that will be off the to-do list. then is another commission for a store. i have one art piece being shown in a gallery on the 11th and 2 more galleries which open later this month that i still have to finish my submissions for. and one of those, i have to create multiple works, so lots of work there.

our halloween line is pretty sweet so far. i made day of the dead style face paint and 2 dresses. still more to do there but also there’s the annual LuNi halloween party that i need to figure out a design for (we build a huge set up and give away prizes and i dj… so its a big deal too!)

i don’t think i’ve been this busy in a long time X-x i just hope i can get it all done!

its one of my favourite months! but also my most busiest of months… i have a lot of work i need to do for second life this month so i’m going to have my nose to the grindstone. probably will be rambling some about those projects over on my second life blog.

its suddenly cold, which is the only thing i hate about this time of year. i prefer the days when its nice and warm but not blazing hot, and not cold. but we’re already chilly enough to need the heater on at night!
