A friend of mine was remodeling her bathroom a while back and mentioned to me that her porcelain sinks were really expensive! I wish I’d known about this place at the time to recommend them to her. At MR Direct you can buy porcelain vessel sink for way less than most places, saving hundreds of dollars. they have some beautiful choices and offer same day shipping! Remodeling is expensive enough, so why pay more when you don’t have to?

one of the things i hate about winter is the fact that its freezing cold. however i LOVE snow… i know that’s one hell of a contradiction since snow requires it to be extremely cold but i love it. unfortunately where i live it never gets cold enough to snow. we get ice rain sometimes but that’s about it.. it has to be blizzard weather before we even get a light dusting.

so this morning i’m waking up and check my facebook and all my friends from high school are posting that it snowed… except it didn’t… for me anyway… *grumbles* i hate the cold rain! i’m only a half hour away from the mountains… give me some snow!

here lately i feel like i’m doing a million things at once. trying to keep up with my blog has been a bit of a challenge but i’m starting to really get back into the rhythm of things.

in second life we’re working on stuff for the holidays. i’m learning a lot about making clothing and stuff and its really hard! but its great because it teaches me a lot about working with 3d models which could come in handy someday.

recently i’ve been playing the sims 2 a lot and i finally got into content creation but now i just don’t feel like i have the time to sit around and play. i was working on a really cool project taking house plans and making them into sim houses.. i hope i can get some time to work on that again.

i started messing with some fallout 3 map editing.. but i kinda got bored with it after i completed the tutorial stuff. i guess that would probably work out better if i had a story or something to run off of when i construct stuff…

i’d really love to finish some of the projects i have piled up on my hard drive. i look at them and think about what i should do with them but i never actually do it.

so the other day i was gifted with Left 4 Dead. i know i’m behind.. everyone else is moving on to L4D 2… i’m still learning the game so i’m not playing it online with others just yet but OMG! i suck… i don’t think i have ever sucked so bad at a game as i do this one. i have a bad habit of being a kamikaze gunner who runs into the middle of stuff and shoots as many things as possible before getting killed. in this game you can’t really do that because you’ll end up dead. i think there should be an achievement for most times covered in boomer vomit. i would so win that.

i’m playing on super easy right now and so far i haven’t actually died but i have come close a few times. i really need to learn to hang back a bit and just pick them off with the shotgun as they run towards me. my “teammates” played by the computer are slow asses so i end up leaving them behind and then have to run back to them cause the damn game is shouting at me to stick together! then of course they get in my way and i get “don’t shoot your team mates!!!” over and over again.. i wouldn’t shoot them if they would move! *shakes fist*

checking out my stats over on the steam site, i really should try playing more.. according to this i’ve only played a total of 49 minutes so i really haven’t played much of the game.. just beat the first scenario on no mercy and half of the second… i’ve got 2 achievements though! so that makes me feel a little better. dunno what’s up with that site though.. they don’t have any stats for my weapons and i can’t see how many headshots i got. i really love trying to shoot them in the head on the first try >_> but yeah.. i’m definitely not going to be handy when the zombies arrive.. i’d say my chances of surviving would probably be slim to none.

i feel so behind on tv shows.. with all the chaos going on lately i’ve lost track of my two favourite shows! flashforward i know had no episode last week because it was thanksgiving but i still feel like i’ve missed something… V’s last episode of the year was on tuesday last week and i forgot completely! so tonight after flashforward i’m declaring it catch up night. and hopefully i’ll figure out what i’ve been missing. i am so thankful for sites like hulu cause they always seem to have my favourite shows pretty fast. not to mention their commercials are a lot easier to stand.

what is up with tv these days? you end up with more commercials than you do show. on hulu you do have commercials but its just 1 short one.. sometimes about a charity or sometimes its about car insurance comparison. but its just 1 and then you’re back to the show pretty fast. i can’t stand having to sit though a ton of commercials. that’s probably why i usually don’t get addicted to tv shows much anymore. i’m also really REALLY behind on nip/tuck and dr. who… i should look those up as well.

i have a new game! i snagged gyromancer the other day and i am totally in love with it. its the unholy marriage between squaresoft and popcap games. basically you are playing bejewled twist but… with a twist! :p its got an rpg style to it where you go though a story and you are battling monsters by playing the game. so far i’ve only gotten past the first stage (not a lot of time to play lately) but i’m really loving it.

i love puzzle games and i especially love bejewled… i have no idea why, i’ve just always been hooked on it. i originally found this game mentioned on a penny arcade comic strip and i just had to google it to see if it was a real game or just something they made up! i was very pleased to find it was real. you can get gyromancer on steam or for the xbox 360 on xbox live. the website for it is here.

In our house eyesight is a big deal. I have been rocking glasses for the majority of my life (since i was 5), my dad is nearsighted and my mom needs glasses for reading. Unfortunately for me, lasik surgery cannot undo the vision problems I have, but if it could, I would definitely consider it. Glasses are really annoying and have always driven me insane. You lose them, you break them, they make it hard to wear makeup (ever tried to wear mascara with glasses when you have really long lashes? Streaks everywhere!) you have to clean them constantly and don’t get me started on frigging scratches… anti-scratch coating never works for me…

So recently, Abbott Medical Optics Inc (AMO) has launched a really cool iLASIK Video Contest  called “You Gotta See This”. Basically all you have to do is create a video showing how improving your or other’s eyesight would improve life.

Some ideas on what people are submitting:

• original music videos
• videos on boxing and swimming
• videos that just show how their daily lives would improve

As of right now the contest is still open for more entries, so visit the site and submit one!

Here’s the rest of the details:

The Prizes
$5,000 Grand Prize

First Prize (one in each video category):
HDTV package — a $2,500 value

Second Prize (one in each video category):
The Flip UltraHD™ camcorder — a $199.99 value

The Details
1. Submit A Video
Users make and submit a video in one of the following categories:
• “My contacts are getting in the way of my good time”
• “My favorite sport or activity would be so much cooler with better vision”
• “You should see life after the iLASIK® Procedure”

2. Tell Friends To Vote
Once users submit a video, their friends can vote on it. And votes are one of the key factors in determining which videos win a prize.

3. Have A Chance To Win
• One Grand Prize winner will win $5,000 — selected from all submitted videos
• Three First Prize winners will win an HDTV package(a $2,500 value) — one per video category
• Three Second Prize winners will win the Flip UltraHD camcorder (a $199.99 value) — one per video category

Users can submit videos, view and vote on all entries at www.GottaSeeThisNow.com.

Sounds like a pretty cool deal. So what are you waiting for?

so things here have been slowly going insane… my day looks like this:

  • wake up way too early
  • get dad breakfast
  • fill out forms for mom because she can’t write
  • lay in my room and attempt to sleep more
  • give up on sleeping and do assorted chores
  • repeat…

so yeah.. i’m not complaining really cause i mean i know they are sick and can’t do these things for themselves.. i just don’t like when things change out of no where. i have a hard time dealing with change especially sudden change. i haven’t adjusted yet. my sleeping pattern has suffered and i’m running on 3 hours sleep here lately.

i fixed some things here on the blog. realized that i should not code my website layout on a tiny laptop because it does not look right on my larger pc monitor. so i fixed the graphics on the header and footer and the background.. now it should at least fit a 19 inch monitor without weird repeating.. bigger monitors will have to suffer though.. sorry about that.

This time we have a more holiday themed book called ‘You Better Not Cry’ and its by Augusten Burroughs, who wrote the book ‘Running With Scissors’ which became a feature film in 2005 staring Gwyneth Paltrow and Alec Baldwin. This book is a holiday-themed memoir, where he recounts Christmases past and present, and shows how the holidays bring out the worst in us and sometimes the very best.

To celebrate the release of ‘You Better Not Cry’, St. Martin’s Press is offering your readers a chance to win a copy of the book. Just go here and fill out the form.

His website is really interesting and full of info on his books and himself. I’ve never read one of his books but I did see the movie version of ‘Running With Scissors’. I’m sure his version is better than the movie though.

The trailer for this book is hilarious.. it really makes me curious about what’s in this book. I’m going to enter the contest and try to win a copy now. you guys can check out the trailer below:

my free WoW time is almost up :( i think it has really sold me on trying to gather up the funds this xmas to buy myself a nice year long subscription… its so much fun to play at my own pace instead of worrying how long i have left to grind!

yesterday i was roaming around on my side mage because my main was on a server that was still offline for maintenance. she’s a really low level so she’s still in the starter area for trolls… while i was running down the road i came across this:

night elf mohawk

it was a night elf mohawk!!! if you don’t know what that is, you should really check out the Mr. T commercial for world of warcraft.

apparently part of the anniversary celebration involves finding these night elf mohawks and getting special grenades that you can throw at others and turn them into night elf mohawks. see.. this stuff is why i love this game XD

i only have two days left to play though and then i have to wait until xmas cause i will get money and can see if i can swing it.

comment question: do you play WoW? show me your armory page!
