since this morning i’ve pretty much non-stop been watching lost. yes i know that is pretty insane. last year before my father died, i promised him i would watch the entire 5 seasons i missed so that i could be ready for feb 2, when the new season was going to start. i’m keeping that promise even though he’s gone.

so i’m on season two and my head is spinning. why the hell didn’t i watch this show when i started??? i mean back when it first came on i didn’t pay attention to it because i thought it was just a boring show about people being stuck on an island and the human drama involved in that. i was soooo wrong… this show, is AMAZING. now i’m kicking myself for never taking the time to watch it, and i have 5 seasons to go though in like.. a week. thankfully hulu has the entire collection available so i can watch it on and off though out the day without any sort of problems.

my favourite characters are charley and sawyer. they remind me of people. and i really love the story of rose and her husband bernard. but i won’t say much more.. cause i don’t want to spoil it for anyone who’s in my situation (trying to cram 5 seasons into their head before new new one lol)

ok off i go back to watching more…

i am very thankful to live in a country where censorship is very minor, and we have the right to freedom of speech both online and off. but unfortunately it is not the same all over the world.

a very good friend of mine from second life, moggs oceanlane is raising awareness to this completely ridiculous plan that her government is attempting to put into action. its ment to protect children from inappropriate content however it also punishes adults who are doing nothing wrong. it is not the government’s place to decide what is right and wrong to look at online or what information one can access. it should be up to the individual to make that decision. parents should pay attention to what their kids are doing on the internet and that’s it!

if this law goes though, austrailia will become the 4th country in the world to have centralised internet filtering, joining china, iran and saudi arabia. as well, the filtering will not only limit what austrailians are able to access but it will also significantly slow the broadband network and it is likely to cause an increase in price for internet service.

what can we do to help? well if you are an aussie and you agree that this is complete bullshit, write your government! let them know what you think! spread the word to your friends, get as many people involved as you can! you do not deserve to be filtered out and cut off from the world’s information.

• black out your online profile pictures. overlay your profile pics with a black layer and display the #nocleanfeed text.

my mattress is driving me insane.. its got annoying springs poking out of it arg! i wish i could have one of those really pretty metal beds, but i can’t fit that in this room so i’m stuck with a mattress and box springs on the floor. guess its time to flip it :/ my brother gave me one of those big memory foam egg crate things to put on it too but it doesn’t fit my bed. can you cut those things? i don’t want to mess it up cause its memory foam and those are expensive.. but my bed is tiny… bleh. guess i’ll go look it up or something.

i’ve got a new time waster of the moment post coming up soon. i’m really enjoying reviewing this junk i’ve been playing… its a lot of fun. this game i’ve been hooked on recently is driving me insane! but i’ll wait for the post to tell you more about that. oh! and my brother got me a subscription to xbox live for 3 months for some crazy reason, but never lets me on the damn thing to play! so maybe i’ll have some xbox game related posts coming soon as well.

my laptop’s still not fixed still not sure what’s wrong with it… but i hope we can get it figured out. working from 1 pc has really killed my ability to multi task!

a month ago yesterday i woke up and was told that my father was dead. a month ago yesterday my entire life collapsed. a month ago yesterday i lost my best friend.

i’m still trying very hard to keep it together. all the stuff we’ve had to endure lately has been tiresome but we’re still here, and everything is ok as far as i know. i’m still crying a lot over it.. randomly.. .when i see movies i think he’d like, or when a show he enjoyed comes on. i’ve been reading his old books, and wandering though old photos.

mom gave me this photo to clean up in photoshop. i didn’t do a great job but it came out way better than what it originally looked like. the picture is blurry because it was taken by a shakey person, but it was covered in wrinkles cause it was in my mom’s purse for a while so i fixed them to the best of my ability.

this is the last photo of my parents together. taken not long before he got really sick. he started using the wheel chair after his legs got really weak and he couldn’t stand up for more than 5 minutes at a time.

i miss him every day. and i wish he was still here.

here we are, a month from the day dad died… i’m still missing him a lot and we are still struggling to deal with some things he had open, since he didn’t write down anything.

my brother had to close down the bank account he was sharing with my dad because of a stupid website dad signed up for. it was charging them a lot of money every month and we could find no way to close out the account. the online info just went to a dead page, and there was no number to call to cancel it. this is why i hate letting my parents online.. i hate to say it like that, it makes them sound like they’re the kids and we’re the parents. but this is a good example of why. they sign up for crap and then later it ends up bad.

so finally they got that taken care of. my brother decided since he was living here now, he was going to upgrade the internet! and what an upgrade it was :o our old connection was a 1mbps connection called “roadrunner lite” seriously the slowest broadband i have ever been on. now we’re on the regular service and it has made things much more simple! now i can watch hulu without having to wait a million years and i can watch youtube videos in HQ! so yay that was a small happy note.

not much else going on though. i lost some weight, mom lost some too. so we’re doing good. i’m still trying to stick with my go out at every possible chance, but i decided to stay in today because i have the annoying girl problems that make me curl up in a ball and want to die. X_x so no walmart for me today.

now its time for WoW and laziness.

tonight was an unexpected treat! i was doing my normal routine of playing WoW with lucas when my brother knocked on the door and invited me to see The Book of Eli we both wanted to see it because it reminded us of the game Fallout. one of my new years resolutions was to attempt to go out every time i am invited. because in recent years i’ve become a bit of a hermit.

so i went to the movies, and it was great! popcorn is really expensive and i was kinda shocked by that. i got a small and it cost 5.50$! i thought i had enough on me for popcorn and a drink but i didn’t even have enough to cover the popcorn!my brother had to give me 50 cents.

the movie really blew me away. i don’t want to say too much because i don’t want to spoil anything for anyone but its definitely a must see! i went in expecting a typical post apocalyptic fallout sort of movie, but ended up with something way more amazing story wise.

there were some awesome trailers as well! the a-team movie looks hilarious, the cast for that almost matches the original cast. clash of the titans looks really awesome and i loved the music they had during the trailer. and there’s going to be a prince of persia movie! that should be interesting… video game movies are always a hit or miss, but the prince of persia story is pretty awesome and it looked pretty cool from the trailer, so i have high hopes.

so a pretty awesome evening, and it was nice to get out of the house. i hope i get invited out more

when did you show up? gah. i was out getting some groceries the other day when i looked around and noticed the tell tale sign of another holiday fast approaching. its still the middle of January but already stores are filled withValentine’s Gifts!

usually i spend valentine’s day with lucas online since we are long distance and we have a blast. i especially love doing the valentine’s stuff on WoW but i also enjoy getting on second life to spend some time with him.

i want to get my mom something nice this year since my dad is gone. he used to send her flowers every year and get her a box of candy. well we’ll have to find sugar free candy for her but i’m sure between me and my brother we can get her some pretty flowers to go with it

do you do anything special for valentine’s day?

so i’ve been a bit absent from blogging. mostly because my laptop has been randomly freezing up on me for a couple of weeks. i have been poking at its insides and right now it seems to be working so lets cross our fingers and hope for the best!

even though the laptop is a secondary computer and i do have a fully working pc, the laptop is my non-gaming computer and therefore, when it comes to my multi-tasking, it gets all the web browsing, blogging, tweeting, plurking, etc that i don’t want running while i’m in a videogame. so being stuck on one computer for a while really sucked.

home life has been weird lately. my brother and sister-in-law are now fully moved in, and its weird having them here. my brother is hogging all the bandwidth which is not really fun when you have a crappy cheap highspeed connection.. my sister-in-law is fun but she rarely comes out of their room so i don’t see her much. they also brought along their two cats, which are adorable but mom for some reason does not want to introduce them to dorian… even though dorian doesn’t have a problem with them. he reacted badly when one of the cats was forced near him… he just doesn’t like having cats shoved in his face suddenly… but he didn’t mind them standing there and they sniffed and all was ok. but she came home and had a hissy fit about the cats co-mingling… its not an issue of accidental kittens either, since both her cats are fixed. so i don’t really get the problem. i hope she’ll let the cats meet at some point though because i hate that brit’s cats have to stay locked up in their room all the time

sorry i’ve not written much. after days of fighting with my internet to get it to work it turned out they were having an outage. i love how the tech support never knows anything about these outages and always blames it on my hardware. when i worked at my call center job, we always knew about service outages and we always told the customer when these occurred… rr should learn a thing or two from them.

life here recently has been quiet, and a lot of adjustments. slowly we are cleaning out my dad’s room and its a heartbreaking task. all his old notes, books, things he was working on for people (he liked to fix electronics) his clothes.. all those things.. we have to look at and determine what we are going to keep, what we are going to sell, etc. i hate it, i really do.

my brother and his wife are going to move into my dad’s room once its cleaned out. right now they are living with his wife’s mom and they hate it there, so we all decided it would be better for them to move in here.

and that’s about it.. not much to write about.. nothing very exciting going on.

i ment to blog yesterday but i spent all day and night fighting with my internet connection! yesterday was just a hassle.. not a great way to start the new year out. i had to help mom figure out all kinds of bills that dad usually paid… lots of money gone in a matter of seconds. at least he didn’t have any business credit cards to pay off. basically we’re just paying the normal bills.. there was a surprise ebay fee that i didn’t know about but hopefully that was taken care of.

this stuff is really tough because dad didn’t leave any instructions for what to do if he died. mostly i have just been watching his email for things to see if we have payments coming out of paypal or if he paid this or that over the phone… its a real struggle.

then of course mom has to start changing over everything into her name. that hasn’t started yet but i need to get her to hurry up. hopefully it won’t cause any problems because we do not need things shut off suddenly!

after all that junk, the internet started to slow down to a crawl. so i did the normal thing of unplugging the modem, couting to 10 and then plugging it back in. when that didn’t work i called roadrunner tech support which was stupid because all they did was turn my modem off and on a bunch of times and the dude kept giving me the wrong instructions (he kept saying router when he ment modem and modem when he ment router which means i kept having to repeat steps cause i was unplugging the wrong one). when i got off the phone with him i had internet for about 15 minutes. after that it slowed down really badly and i decided to say fuck it, and maybe its just the weather. i live in an area where weather tends to ruin everything. so i took a nap, and figured when i woke up it would be back on. but NO it stayed slow and not working until about 5am when i had finally given up on it and started to figure out something to put me to sleep again.

so yeah.. craptastic first day of the new year.
