this morning i was sitting at my desk working on some stuff for the sims 2 when i looked up and BAM! a bee dive bombed and stung me in the eyelid! of all the stupid crap that could happen to someone… it hurt so bad this morning that i spent a couple hours with an ice pack on the left side of my face

after a nap, it doesn’t look like anything is wrong with my eyelid but its all swelled up and its irritating the hell out of me. i can hardly blink! you know, i always took for granted that my glasses would protect my eyes from stuff falling in them but apparently they cannot protect against bee to the face.

so that was my excitement for today. hope the swelling goes away soon. :/

LASIK is a treatment i have tossed around for a while now. The procedure kinda scares me but I think it would be really nice to wake up and not have to search for my glasses in the morning. I have friends who have had the procedure done but the idea of lasers near my eyes kinda freaks me out! I guess its because i’ve never had an opporation before. Maybe someday i will get over that fear and get this done, or at least see if i can get it done. My eyes are a real mess, and it would be nice to see normally for once.

i was under the assumption that spring had sprung! we’ve been having some wonderful weather the last few days but then today it was as cold as winter again. we even had sleet this evening! i wish the weather would make up its mind. march is always the weird in between time right before real spring sets in but this has been so extreme! it really makes you wonder what kind of weather we are going to have for the rest of the year. at least i’m not one of those outdoor people who go camping or go for long trips in travel trailers. could you imagine suddenly being stuck in a freezing rain storm in the middle of the woods? no thank you, i think i’ll stick with my nice warm room.

anyway, since it is supposedly spring, i made a pretty picture to celebrate.

i’m trying to work more in poser and photoshop and i’m going to start selling stuff like this as prints or what ever else i can set it up as. right now this and another picture is for sale on my deviant art account i’m really proud of the work i have been doing recently, and i am hoping to continue to do more nifty stuff. so check that out if you’re interested.

for a long time now my mom has been a bit forgetful. she has always claimed its due to an accident she had a few years back where she ended up being sideswiped by a car and smacked her head against the driver-side window. here recently though its just gotten nuts. after her mini-stroke in november, she has been forgetting things a lot more now. she forgets dates, and times, and when to take medicine. we have to write everything down and i am constantly reminding her of things.

i would buy her a pocket calendar but she would probably forget about it and leave it at home, like she does her cellphone :/. i’ve been trying to think of new ways to help her remember stuff, because i am not always around to remind her, and sometimes she even forgets to tell me something to remind her about!

i admit it, when i’m bored i surf though my spam email and look at the silly advertisements that are in there. sometimes they are gibberish with something thrown in about how to succeed with online dating, other times they are weird random stories that have absolutely nothing to do with what they are trying to sell. then there’s the 8 billion emails from fake WoW sites, trying to phish my WoW account info. those are the ones that really crack me up. i had one say that i needed to text my world of warcraft name and password to them immediately or my account will be closed! oh no… except seriously… first of all i have no cellphone, secondly, my WoW account is in non-paid status at the moment, so really what are you going to get out of that?

thankfully i’m not dumb enough to fall for this stuff, so after i laugh a little at these silly emails, i chuck them in the trash.

remember how i wrote the other day about eye glasses? well i was cleaning mine today and the left lens popped out! i was able to get it back in but that’s a sign that they are starting to get old. guess its time to shop around for a new pair! i guess i am lucky though, these have lasted me quite a few years, with out even a scratch! this lens situation is the first time i’ve had anything happen with these glasses… i really hope they can hold out until i can get another pair.

to be honest i really don’t want to give up these frames. they are by far my favourite of all the frames i have ever had. they have little silver stars on the ends of the ear pieces and when i found them i knew they were ment to be. my favourite colour is silver and my favourite shape is a star so at the time they were destiny! in reality they were just made by converse and that star is their logo, but when i found them, there was a bright and shiny light and some monks singing in the background and i knew i had to have them (i am of course over-exaggerating the situation for effect here). hopefully i can find a replacement pair that i love just as much. has anyone come out with frames for people who constantly fall asleep with their glasses on?

here it is almost april… its really just flying by isn’t it? so far this year has been pretty boring for me. most of my time has been spent playing videogames or on sites like pogo. probably not the best way to be spending my time, i know. i am slowly getting up the courage to look into this college stuff i’ve been tossing around. sometimes i get really down on myself, and i tell myself i’m really not good enough to go to school for these things, but i need to stop that! i may not be the best at things but with school i could be pretty damn good. someone needs to kick me in the ass so i stop playing these flash games.

on the plus side, i do really enjoy the reviews i’ve been doing (time waster of the moment) i’ve gotten to check out some really neat games. all of that has been on my own without any payment or prompting too. i wonder if there’s any money in being a professional beta tester? i’m a good nit-picker or so i’m told.

this time around i’m writing about another app i found for the ipod touch/iphone. anyone that knows me knows that i am a big nerd for facebook games. i have farms, fishtanks, cafes, you name it i probably joined it. then one day i saw one of my facebook friends post an achievement from something called “zombie farm” and i went .  the perfect game… zombies, and a farmville style game. i downloaded it immediately (it was free!) and i seriously love it.

you play a little farmer who is not only growing crops, but also growing zombies. it is very much like those farm games on facebook but with one difference. after you reach the max amount of zombies (right now its 16, not sure if that changes as you level up) you can choose to “invade” farmer mcdonnell’s farm. once you hit invade the game changes. its you against the farmer. he’s on a barn throwing crap while his helpers poke at your zombies with pitch forks.

as you progress in the game you recieve the option to grow different types of zombies (and crops for cash). different zombies have different fighting styles and having the right ones on hand can mean winning the invasion stage or not. so far i have not lost any of the invasions but i cringe every time i lose a zombie. some of the zombies you can grow will even fertilize your crops which help them grow.

this is definitely a winner in my book. i’m only level 5 but i’m hooked on this game!

having glasses can really be a pain. i’ve had to wear them ever since i was 5 years old. unfortunately for me my eyesight is so messed up that i cannot wear contacts, so i’m stuck with these things on my face until science can somehow develop contacts that work with my problems. glasses can be an expensive burden, especially if you are clumsy like i am. i’ve broken so many pairs of glasses just from stupid stuff that its not even funny.

to save myself a bit of money, because glasses are pretty expensive these days, i stick with one pair of frames until i wear them out. i always make sure they they are nice, thin frames that are stylish and not too expensive. my lenses can cost somewhere in the range of 300 to 400 bucks these days especially with my prescription, so i try to get inexpensive frames to go with them. when they break, or i lose them, or something else happens and i need a new pair, its always an awful experience… dreading the price tag mostly. so these days i’ve been researching places that sell glasses online that are affordable. in my surfing i came across this review about a site called zeni optical which sells nice eyeglasses at affordable costs.

checking out the website i was stunned! are you kidding me? $8.00 for a pair of frames?!?! this is awesome! i am definitely putting them on my list of places to look at if i need a new pair of glasses, but hell with the prices of these, maybe i can afford to go ahead and get a second pair just for safety sake. if i do get them, i’ll definitely review them here!

recently i’ve been thinking about going to college. i know i’m getting a little older and i should have done this years ago, but after my dad got sick i just sorta lost the will to do things. i need to start thinking about what i’m going to do with the rest of my life. of course there is my dream job, but the only way to get to the tom savini school is to move to PA, and while i wouldn’t mind living in PA (my grandfather and uncle live up there), i really don’t have the resources to get there, and i’ll admit, the idea of being out on my own (ie no room mate friends, ect) scares the crap out of me. i’ve never lived just on my own. i’ve always had a relative or a friend living with me.

there’s my backup job, which i think i’m going to look into further. graphics design was something that i took up back in highschool. i’ve always enjoyed working on stuff like that and i think if i furthered my education in it i would be pretty good. i could be a web designer or make designs for a postcard mailing services.

with the skills i have learned working in second life, i’ve even thought about going to college for some sort of 3d work, but that’s probably not as easy to get into as graphics design and i’m not sure if i could take online classes for that. it would be awesome though! i really enjoy figuring those programs out.

so i have a lot to think about…
