its nearing the end of the month and i’m kicking myself a little bit for falling out of the routine i tried to set up for myself at the beginning of the year. i will jump back into it in feb though, as i plan to stick with this stuff. mostly i got sick and so i got lazy and i haven’t been doing what i should be doing every day. goofing off is bad!

the other day i was bored and looking at old website stuff i have on a disk. i found old layouts from the domain i used to own a few years ago. it made me miss it a bunch! i even did a domain name check and found that its still available! maybe when i can get a decent paycheck i’ll buy it again

still working on those ideas for my videogame blogging. i looked into streaming gameplay on a site like justin.tv but i don’t have a good upload speed so my game is lagged. so i guess lets play style videos are my only way of doing things. no live game casts from me now i just have to figure out what game i want to record me playing. THAT is the hard part.

oh yeah and i need to finish that layout gah!

wow time flies! i cannot believe how fast january went by! and nothing has exploded! so lets hope the rest of the year goes as smoothly. there are of course bumps in the road but we get past them thankfully.

february means valentines day! i love that my anniversary is in january and then i get another day of mush in february… not that we aren’t mushy all the time, but still.. i like the little gifts and cute stuff that i get on special days. do you have any special plans for v-day?

today is a special day for me. this time 4 years ago i fell in love with someone who is now permanently attached to my soul. it blows me away to know just how far love can go when you are with someone that completes you so perfectly. everyone has bad patches and moments where they explode, but the important thing is when you can get back up and dust yourself off and be so perfect and happy together.

i cherish the time i get to spend with him, and i still get butterflies when i think about him. i don’t think i’ve ever felt as complete as i do now.

happy 4 years lucas, and may there be a life time more. 

i was given the opportunity to beta test the upcoming mmorpg “RIFT” yesterday, and while the game still has a little while before it comes out to the general public, i would definitely recommend it! i only played a few hours yesterday (and i’m sure i’ll play a few more today later) but i was BLOW AWAY. honestly.. i have played so many mmorpgs that they sort of… run together. they are mostly the same. this game, is taking it to a whole new level. there is so much to see and do, and its a little overwhelming.

the game puts you at the end of a world. a demon like creature is destroying everything. there are two factions, the guardians, and the defiants. i chose a defiant because well.. the name was cool. though both sides are striving for the survival of the world, they really dislike each other, so you have a faction war to deal with as well as saving everything. the guardians were chosen by the gods and the defiants chose a more technological way of doing things.

i don’t want to give away too much, story-wise or anything, so i’m not going to talk much about it for now! it is a great game though, so i do recommend checking out a beta test if you can get in, or buy the game when its out for sale!

ok i know its been a long time since i did a "nimil plays" blog, but that’s because i’ve been trying to figure out a way to write these better! the truth is, i’m no good at reviewing stuff, especially videogames. because i start a game, and then i put it aside for months before i finish it or get anywhere significant enough to really do a review. not to mention, i’m broke so i end up reviewing old games and games that aren’t really popular or interesting to people besides me.

i’m honestly thinking of doing lets play style videos and uploading them on youtube. i’m not sure if this will work out, or if i will do more than one but its an idea for the future! if you’ve never watched a lets play video, they’re basically a set of videos where someone plays a videogame, and you get to watch. i’m a big fan of them myself, but i’ve never done one. i’m not really even sure what i should do for a lets play. they look fun though, so we’ll see.

no i’m not santa, but i am making a list.

our home is falling apart and a lot of stuff needs to be repaired and in some cases replaced. nothing seems to get done because of our lack of money right now, so i am trying to make a list of everything that we need. how we’ll get it i have no idea, but if i can figure out how much money its going to all cost, then maybe i can figure out the best course of action.

right now the major needs here are a replacement refrigerator and a plumber to check on why our water keeps randomly shutting off. we have a well and for some reason every once in a while the water pump will just stop pumping. we have to tap on something outside to get it to cut back on (and that seriously sucks in the middle of the night when its snowing let me tell you). my mom also needs her car fixed because she has a rejected inspection sticker and the parts for her car will cost over 1k to replace.

i honestly hate money at this point. the lack of it is just becoming such a strain on everything. it feels like nothing is going to get fixed. the government does not provide my mother with enough money to make ends meet every month, and with the lack of jobs in this area i’m forced to run on nothing but the cash i get from paid advertising on my blog and my twitter, which honestly i would rather not do, and i’m sure i’ve lost some readers because of that (and my lack of blogging of course).

i wish i could find a better way to fix things. i have looked for answers on websites and other stuff to see if there are more programs mom can get into that will help her, but there isn’t anything.

because we live in such an out of the way area, to go to a big store or somewhere with specific stuff, means we have to spend a lot of time in the car, and a lot of gas to get there. after we got our bank accounts figured out and paypal going, mom and i have become a bit addicted to shopping online. its easy and convenient and even though we have to wait on the item to get to us in the mail, it saves us the trip and gas money.

i found a very cool site that has helped us find stuff more easily on the web. ShopWiki allows you to search every store website from one easy location with just a simple search term. its set up like a wiki, so if you know how to use those (and they are super simple to use) then you will have no trouble with this site. and you don’t have to worry about it being just for the US either, they have sites for the UK, Australia, and a few other european countries.

not sure what to buy? shopwiki has buying guides to help you decide on the right product for you! and since its just a search engine, and not an actual shop, you have nothing to lose, and can pick shops on the search results that you are familiar with and feel you can trust with your money and information.

so after being a virgo all my life (which honestly, fits me to a tee) atronomers have decided there’s a new astrological sign “Ophiuchus”. and because of this everything is getting shifted around. so now, i’m a leo??

according to this article, a shift in the earth’s alignment has changed zodiac dates and added this new sign, making the total 13 instead of 12. the new dates are as follows:

Capricorn: Jan. 20 – Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 – March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18- May 13

it has come to my attention that you are the deciding factor on whether or not we get a ghostbusters 3. ok i know its been a long time since the last movie, however after playing the videogame for a while i am once more completely head over heels in love with the ghostbusters series.

i beg of you oh great bill murray, please approve the script that was sent to you and please give us another round of peter venkman to equally love and hate. the world needs more ghostbusters, seriously, and there is no team without you!

ok i know i’m being lame but UGH i want more ghostbusters… imdb says he’s cast already however other sites that i’ve been shown say he’s still deciding. i think my nerd is showing but seriously.. how can you even think of turning down ghostbusters???
