glimmer of hope
things are finally starting to look up and i am so relieved to say that. robert and brit have their jobs and i have a hopeful interview. i have to call the personnel department at kmart monday after 10 to get an interview scheduled and then after i ace that (because i will) i’ll be gainfully employed once again! its not a fancy job, and i won’t be making much, but its enough to help take care of bills and have a bit of life instead of the black hole we were facing.
it means i can finally take down the donation button on the sidebar, and that maybe just maybe things will get back to normal and less worry some. i was even able to take a little of my paid blogging money and buy a bit of time for WoW so i have been enjoying that for the last couple of days.
i hope the sun keeps shining for a while.

I Choose Walgreens!
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

As you all know I'm constantly looking for ways to save money when I'm shopping. Some times this means I go for the store brand products instead of the big name brands out on the market. To some people, store brand items usually means a lesser quality item, but that is not always true!
I've bought plenty of cold medication, headache medication, and other stuff, cause frankly.. my immune system sucks! Stuff like that can be expensive, and it needs to work or well… what's the point in buying it?
My usual choice is Walgreens. I always have a stash of Walgreens Ibuprofen handy for when I get one of my bad headaches. They do a great job of getting rid of my headaches fast so I can go back to doing what I need to do instead of curled up in bed all day.
I have always had a good experience buying Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products. Their quality is top notch and has always worked just as well as the name brands! With the rising cost of health care, saving money on over-the-counter medication can really benefit your budget. As well, at Walgreens their products are pharmacist recommended, most have the same ingredients as national brands, and have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, not that you'll need that because they just simply work! Purchasing these items also gives money to the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ which is an amazing charity that helps provide free health and wellness services.
If that wasn't awesome enough, right now there are several bloggers out there giving away Walgreens gift cards! You can go to this giveaways page to take a chance at winning your own.

no place for us
today was a pretty crappy day… we had a meeting with the county clerk’s office to settle mom’s estate. speed bump 1, it cost 42 bucks to put the land in our names… like we aren’t already shelling out a ton of money for everything already. then the woman dropped the bomb. all the money that was in mom’s bank account (about $600+) had to be given directly to the funeral home because the funeral expenses were not already paid off. that was money we were hoping to pay bills with… it didn’t matter that we had arrangements with the funeral home to pay off mom’s funeral cost in installments, no they just took all that money and said sorry about that!
the fact that the woman actually said “good luck” to us as we were walking out the door.. i honestly had to stop myself from spitting on her or punching her… its so easy for people to just dismiss this stuff or say “good luck” when they aren’t experiencing it first hand. not knowing if you are going to have money for basic utilities and needs, like toilet paper for instance… its really just depressing and i am tired of living this way.
there’s absolutely nothing that can be done as well… no government programs that help people who are just poor… we aren’t disabled, there’s no underage children to take care of… we just don’t have any money. its like unless we get hurt really badly or one of us gets pregnant, we just have to deal with possibly being homeless.
why does the system work like this??? i don’t get it…

a little art break
some of you may know that i enjoy messing with 3d art programs like poser and 3ds max. well i finally got some inspiration and made a pretty picture recently, so i thought i would share.
this is supposed to be harley quinn from the batman series, being crazy and waiting on “mista jay” to come back from where ever he went.
i’m thinking of getting some of my poser artwork together and trying to sell it on cafe press or zazzle or something… would any of you be interested in stuff like that?
oh yes, just to cover that base… this work is created by me and may not be used without expressed written consent from me. please do not mangle, destroy, or change this artwork in anyway, do not use it for layouts on your website, do not use it for avatars or anything else that you might want to swipe it for. please speak to me before hand, thank you.
you can see more of my artwork on my deviant art page.

things are quiet
i’ve not really been very exciting lately so i’ve not had much to write about in my blog. robert and brit have finally gotten jobs. i however am still seeking employment. i’m not sure what i can do to get hired and its really driving me insane. i am just hoping that i can find something so that we can stop struggling. these last couple of months have been rather frightening. not knowing if you are going to be able to keep the lights on is really scary, not to mention all the little crap that seems to keep popping up in the middle of things! right now we’ve had so much go wrong all at once and really we could use a ray of hope… or five.
beyond that life has not been very exciting. i miss having Direct TV to watch and all the tv seems to have are infomercials about stuff like home security sierravista and various cooking equipment. thankfully i have a bunch of videogames to play (if i can just decide on one and stick to it) and i’ve been reading books with mom’s kindle.

saying goodbye to WoW
well i spent this week catching up on all things world of warcraft, and i have to say it was very much fun. pretty much the only enjoyable thing i did this week was play with the free 7 days that blizzard gave me. i am definitely sold on playing the game again someday when i have a steady income.
i was able to level up my warrior main for a bit AND i leveled up a death knight which i wanted to make for a long time! there were a few things i didn’t get to see because i don’t have the cataclysm expansion pack, but for the most part it was fun.
i did have one annoyance, scammers im’ed me once a day, always on level 1 orc hunters. they would say “hi!” in an im and i would say hello, thinking eh maybe someone wants to run a dungeon but no.. they would always reply with “would u like to make some world of warcraft money today???” and then i would report them for spamming. the last one to do it only got a “hi!” out before i told them not to bother.
all in all it was a fun week on world of warcraft, and i am sad to let it go
i’ve applied at a bunch of places for jobs and i am praying someone calls me back… because we really need the money.
