i had a bunch of stuff happen all at once so let me try to compile it all into..uh.. a pile!

first i got an awesome call from *big retail store* telling me they want to interview me for a position! i jumped around and did a happy dance.

saturday i got to go out for an early birthday gift from my friends, to a battle of the bands concert! it was awesome and i had a lot of fun. they even managed to get a photo of me smiling!

they are not as amazing as the stuff you guys take with your fancy cameras but i am pretty impressed with how well these turned out! this was my first ever attempt at taking concert photos with this camera (which is a point and shoot) and i was honestly expecting the photos to be pretty bad.

the concert was great and most of the bands were good. my friends lost to a cover band, which i think is bs because cover bands should not be in a battle against bands that actually write their own stuff. but the guys were just happy to play a show at such a big venue, and hopefully they gained a ton of new fans!

so then on tuesday, i had my interview with *big retail store* and everything went very well. i was interviewed by managers and a store manager and then sent home, saying they would call wednesday, or if they did not, to call on thursday to find out what was going on.

wednesday was my birthday, the big 30. it was, unfortunately, pretty dull, and full of me pacing the floor waiting for a call from *big retail store* about job stuff. i spent my birthday mostly alone, due to robert and brit both having to work the entire day and into the night. robert was supposed to cook steak for me but by the time he got home, he was exhausted. so, with lucas’ help, and a pair of tongs, i tackled the project myself.

i have a hard time with raw meat, something about it freaks me out and i don’t want to touch it, so i had to pick it up with tongs the entire time lol. i successfully marinated it in awesomesauce, and pan cooked it and it came out amazing! i am so proud of myself!

yes i did go a little nuts for my birthday.. that was a huge steak, and i ate all of it.

i also had my traditional birthday mt. dew, and a huge slice of red velvet cake.

today i called *big retail store* and asked about the job i applied for. they informed me that they are still interviewing for it, but that they have also considered me for other positions and would call me when they made a decision. so i’m still waiting for now.. and hoping that i get into electronics, as i really enjoyed working in that area of the store last time.

and that’s all from me for now.. i need to do something about this layout.. its way beyond spring!

some of you may know that i enjoy messing with 3d art programs like poser and 3ds max. well i finally got some inspiration and made a pretty picture recently, so i thought i would share.

this is supposed to be harley quinn from the batman series, being crazy and waiting on “mista jay” to come back from where ever he went.

i’m thinking of getting some of my poser artwork together and trying to sell it on cafe press or zazzle or something… would any of you be interested in stuff like that?

every year for my father’s birthday, he had a special pie made. its a tradition that started when he was a child and we continue it this year without him.

its basically a lemon meringue pie without the meringue, double the lemon pie filling part, and nilla waffers instead of pie crust. i messed up on the bottom and some of the cookies from the bottom ended up floating up top.

since there is no real crust to hold it together, its messy and looks more like pudding in a bowl.

i will make it every year for the rest of my life and share it with my someday family.

i haven’t had much to write about lately but i feel like i should write something. i hate it when that’s the first sentence i write but its so true these days. i have a giant list of games that i need to write about but i’m lazy.. bleh.

farmville is now available on the ipod, and i think i should probably do some sort of ipod app review sometime because i keep downloading new ones all the time. anyway the farmville app is kinda.. eh.. i’ll write more about it later but its still new so there are bugs to work out i’m sure. if nothing else it makes it so i don’t have to go to the website or facebook to poke at my crops and what not.

i’ve been playing the sims 3 a bit more lately! shocker i know… i don’t really like the sims 3. not as much as the sims 2, but i did end up making a sim and i kinda fell in love with her weird personality so i’ve been playing it a bit more off and on. i do think i would like to get the expansion packs at some point, maybe for my birthday or something. you can of course check out my sims rambling on the lj i have set up for it here.

final thing for this blog, i wanted to show off a bit more of my 3d work! i’m learning a lot via some good tutorials on youtube. here’s a dumpster i made in a couple of hours!

nothing too special but its  something to learn and i’m picking it up a lot easier now than in the past. next i’m going to attempt actual textures.

so recently i have decided to start pulling myself out of my creative slump. since my dad died i have been pretty low and i have’t really focused on anything art related, but here recently i’ve had the itch again and its been pretty inspiring! i’ve been doing some neat tutorials and trying to learn more about the programs i have on my hard drive.

these are my two first attempts in zbrush. its an awesome program but its just really hard for me to figure out so mostly i make random blobs o.o

flipping over to maya i managed to make a pretty awesome usb plug following this tutorial from cgtuts. i love the tuts sites.. i am really in love with psdtuts but the cgtuts are just as awesome.

and of course there was yesterday’s easter picture which i forgot to post on here! oops… going against my usual code of no pink this is totally pinked out to hell.. i did learn some new stuff about lighting in this picture…

so i’m pretty stoked that i am improving! and i’m really happy that i have some sort of spark of creativity… i was getting worried there for a bit.

and that’s all i’ve got so far. this time around with the legit copy i was sad to see that i did not get the disgruntled mailman that i got in the “borrowed” version i had previously. i know the npcs are randomly generated but i LOVED him.. his face was priceless and he threw my mail on the lawn!

its a new month and i don’t have much to say, i just wanted to blog because i am going to attempt to blog every day this month if not more.

for some reason every couple of weeks he will switch to a new perch to be lazy in, so i’ve been taking pictures every time he finds a new one.

i’ve been fighting with poser pro for a while now, trying to get it to work on my desktop. i don’t know what happened but for the longest time i was unable to open the program! it would just go to the splash screen and then poof, gone… which made it impossible for me to work on art and made me a very grumpy nimil.

however yesterday, for the 5th time, i reinstalled poser and BAM! it worked… i could have danced a jig of glee.

after doing the happy dance in my chair i created this little picture to remind myself how poser works.. its been a month or so since i’ve gotten to play with it so i was a tiny bit rusty XD

so cute! little alien pinup girl *squees* anyway.. yay i can make stuff again.

i went to despair last night and my account still worked, so i logged in and i made myself active again. everything seems to be in order now.. i got my first comment email last night and did my commenting quickly there after. yay… getting back into old habits

watched the death note 2 movie last night with lucas, i love that whole series and he’s never seen it so i’m making him now thankfully he likes that stuff so its not really forcing him.

well wednesday my family smushed into a car and drove up to woodstock VA for a day to see my dad’s best friend wayne who i have always called ‘uncle wayne’. i had a really great time which is rare for me these days as i’ve been rather depressed about crap.

anyway, our drive up to woodstock was pretty uneventful, we got lunch and once we got into the more northern part of VA we finally reached a 7eleven

and i got a slurpee…

oh god it has been so long since i have had one of those.. it was bliss! total bliss! we then finally made it to woodstock and stopped to call wayne, who happened to be right down the road from the gasstation we stopped at, so he escorted us to his house.

i hadn’t seen wayne since my highschool graduation in 2001 so i was very happy to see him again and accepted my bearhug with open arms. after having my internal organs crushed into jello we sat and chatted for a while on his back porch

while listening to kpig (a radio station in california) and watching his 2 awesome parrotts cookie and elvis climb around the cage.

i also got to meet frankie, wayne’s son, who the last time i saw, was a small baby. he’s 10 now and is already almost as tall as his dad (his dad is over 7ft tall!)

sadly our trip turned sad when someone called wayne to tell him that an old friend of his killed himself and was just found… it was pretty heart breaking and the rest of our time there was spent hugging wayne and wishing him well… we then departed and made the trip back home.

i hope that we can go again soon, i really like it up there.

i don’t have much else to blog about, still looking for a job, money is running thin, but thankfully my parents are being understanding now. but i hope that i can get a job because i really want to be out from under their thumb.

for now i think i am going to do some maintanance on this blog pretty soon and try to spruce it up a bit.

you know, if it wasn’t for taking all the stressful calls here, this job wouldn’t be so bad.

the people i’ve met here are really cool. some of them i already knew from past things like old local concerts, or i went to school with them. but the new people that i never met previously have been very interesting.

we have one guy that is in his 40′s. reminds me of my dad. tells us stories about crazy stuff from his younger days and always tells really funny jokes. there was one man who used to tell us about when he was in punk bands in the early 80′s late 70′s. that guy is pretty cool as well. some of the people here recognize me from my days at hacker house, which kinda makes me just the tiniest bit popular. *makes finger gesture* tiny tiny bit.

however the freaking callers are driving me nuts, as well as the company it’sself.

in other news,
i’ve finally talked lucas into playing wow with me, which will be awesome cause his best friend plays it too. we’re all going to get on the same server and make fresh characters and run around together whee! now i just gotta find a server.
