one thing i love about living in this day and age is the fact that i have so much information at my fingertips. sure its overwhelming but since i’m stuck here with no clue how to deal with pregnancy stuff, i’m honestly loving the fact that i can hop on a website, or ask a question on twitter, and get back SO MUCH information, and things to research, and ideas! sure that comes in handy for other things too but holy crap there is a ton of stuff out there for mommies-to-be.

one thing we are worrying about is how the heck are we going to afford all this kid stuff, and sure we’ll probably get some stuff from friends and family, but some of the big stuff we’re going to try looking on ebay and other websites to find the stuff we want for less than what it costs at the big name stores. the net is full of people trying to get rid of their old baby stuff and as long as you stay away from stuff like the dealfun.com scam you can find all kinds of low price awesome items online.

and of course there’s all the research i’ve been doing. i’ve learned so much about what to expect over the next few months and some of it is really exciting (some of it makes me want to curl up in a ball and hide) and i am honestly really getting antsy to meet hellspawn! i know i need to calm down.. its only 8 weeks old, but still.. i’m starting to get excited

what do i want for giftmas?

i’ve been hearing that question a lot and honestly i can’t think of anything i want, but there is something that i guess i need.

my glasses frames are really old and bent and so i kinda look like a weirdo with crooked glasses, even though that seems to have become my signature look, its rather annoying! what i would like to do is go get some awesome new eyeglasses from zenni optical. i am rather partial to my black wireframes but they have some really cute pairs that i could keep as a backup after these finally fall apart (i’ve had them for i think possibly 10 years now…honestly i’m surprised they lasted this long!)

since their frames are their brand, they do not cost an arm and a leg like places that sell big name brands, which is good since my prescription is ridiculous as it is, so i don’t need frames that cost as much as the lenses. i know i keep talking about these people, but i have seen so many happy customers showing off their awesome new glasses, that at some point i am going to finally give in and get a few pairs myself!

things just aren’t working…

that glimmer of hope i had? gone. i cannot get a job thanks to the stupid mark on my work record over 4 years ago. yeah i read my email on the work computer, yeah i own up to my stupid mistake. would i do it again? of course not. but i guess now we know why i have been unemployed for almost 5 years now.

i can’t seem to make anything work anymore. i just feel completely broken. i would pretty much take any job right now. even washing medical scrubs like you would find at websites like http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/, or janitorial work. but there just does not seem to be anything here that is hiring, or at least, that will hire me.

i never realized just how hard it would be to find a job…

things are quiet

i’ve not really been very exciting lately so i’ve not had much to write about in my blog. robert and brit have finally gotten jobs. i however am still seeking employment. i’m not sure what i can do to get hired and its really driving me insane. i am just hoping that i can find something so that we can stop struggling. these last couple of months have been rather frightening. not knowing if you are going to be able to keep the lights on is really scary, not to mention all the little crap that seems to keep popping up in the middle of things! right now we’ve had so much go wrong all at once and really we could use a ray of hope… or five.

beyond that life has not been very exciting. i miss having Direct TV to watch and all the tv seems to have are infomercials about stuff like home security sierravista and various cooking equipment. thankfully i have a bunch of videogames to play (if i can just decide on one and stick to it) and i’ve been reading books with mom’s kindle.

rain rain go away

its been raining like crazy here for days now, a big storm just hit us tonight and is, as i write, pouring down on our home. its made the internet a bit of a pain in the butt (which kinda sucks since our ISP has been having troubles on its own, and now storms :/) so i have been sitting here with crappy loading times going crazy. it makes it really tough to do work and i have an article on ppc search engine marketing due really soon.

to make matters worse, rain around here makes our entire yard a muddy mess. we live in an area where red clay mud is everywhere, and when it rains our front driveway area turns into a swamp. i hate having to go out in it, especially when i’m wearing something nice, i end up getting mud everywhere.

the only thing i like about storms, or just rain even, is that it cools things down a little and its nice and calming when i can’t get to sleep, like now… i really should be in bed, but thunder woke me up

hopefully the storm will finish doing its thing soon so i can get back to work… or at least try to get a bit more sleep.

dear internet.. PLEASE WORK!!

for the past two days i’ve been sitting around poking at the internet with a stick. i’m online but everything is almost dialup slow and its really starting to get on my nerves. i’ve done everything possible that i can do to make it better on my end and its still not working. tomorrow i am going to call roadrunner and get some answers as to why the hell my net is suddenly so slow.

slow internet makes it harder for me to get anything done, since most of what i do is online (second life work mostly) and i end up spending all my time being lazy and reading a book or playing videogames to take up the large spaces of nothing. i guess i could get some articles done. i do have that one to write about Residential flooring that’s almost finished. but with this awful slow internet speed i’m not even sure if it would be safe to bother trying to work online at all.

tomorrow my internet better be working or i am going to be very pissed off. i seriously wish i could switch to something better but this is all we have around here.

i know that a lot of my friends from high school went on to become nurses which i find very admirable… (its something i don’t think i could ever bring myself to do…) so i figured i would pass on some info about a great store that sells a great variety of nursing scrubs and uniforms. there’s no rule that says you shouldn’t look your best even when you are caring for the sick, that’s why its great to have a choice!

medication scares me

one thing that kinda stops me when i think about getting mental help is the fact that a lot of doctors just want to put you on medication. i honestly would rather not take drugs if i really don’t have to (i mean i’ll take them if they can prove i have a chemical imbalance, but not just because i am moody…) sometimes i think i just need a doctor to talk to and try to fix the rubix cube of problems in my brain.

the reason i’m bothered by medication and stuff is because i read a lot of stuff on the news about zoloft lawsuits or bad side effects and all of that stuff really worries me. there’s also the fact that i’ve never had to take medication before (besides cold meds or something) so i worry about not remembering to take them every day at the same time, since i tend to have weird sleeping habits and might not be awake when its time for meds!

i’ll take them if i have to. they just kinda scare me. i would do a ton of research on stuff before i start using them that’s for sure. not really looking forward to side effects. its pretty much going to happen no matter what i’d end up with. everything has a nasty side effect or two.

up the road and back again

where i live, our mailbox is at the very top of a long gravel driveway. this can be a real pain in the winter time but recently i’ve been using it as a way to get some exercise while pretending its not really exercise. i toss on my ipod and make the long trek up the drive way, grab the mail from the mail box and walk back down to the house. it takes a few minutes to do this because i’m slow, but in the end i get a small workout out of the deal.

our mailbox is pretty old though and to be honestly i’d love for it to be closer to the house, and maybe even replaced. its been beaten up from cars and dumb kids with baseballs bats, and delivery trucks tend to miss our home because the mailbox is all the way at the top of the drive. everyone else on our road got their mailboxes closer to their home because they moved in years after us, but we’re still stuck at the top of the road. my mom says we can’t move it because we’d have to go though a bunch of stuff, so its stuck there for now. mainly i want to move it because in the winter time, when it snows, unless we want to dig out the car to get up our driveway, the mail ends up stuck up there for days which is not good when you are waiting for something specific.
